The BOEING Company: KC-767 aircrafts maintenance at Pratica di Mare airport

The Boeing Company is the largest aerospace industry in the world and the largest manufacturer of commercial and military aircraft. The company provides a variety of support services to airlines and to the armed forces. It has customers in over 90 countries. Boeing has more than 168,000 employees in 65 countries; It posted revenue of 86.6 billion dollars in 2013.

Italy is the second largest European supplier of industrial Boeing (excluding aircraft engines) – the partnership includes collaboration with Finmeccanica and its operating companies Alenia Aeronautica (for the 787) and AgustaWestland (for new ICH-47F for the Army).

In 2006, Boeing has signed a major contract with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of the latest KC-767 Tanker to replace 707 of the Air Force: Italy can boast of having the world’s most sophisticated tanker aircraft.

The first KC-767 aircraft has been delivered in late 2010 and the supply has been completed in 2012.

The IG O&M has been selected from the beginning of the program as a qualified supplier AS9110 for the maintenance of the aircraft 767 CTA (Commercial Training Asset, from 2008 to 2011) and then for the maintenance in “line” and in “hangar” of No. 4 aircraft KC -767 at the military airport of Pratica di Mare (Rome).

Through its highly skilled technicians the IG O&M has carved out a significant role in the development of the program KC-767 with satisfaction by both the customer-Boeing by the end user/ Italian Air Force.
